This is not a new revelation... it's something I've known for quite some time, about 21 years actually!
The job of a parent is a tough one, tougher than any other task or any other responsibilities one could imagine.
It is something that one doesn't really, fully grasp the enormity of until living it for oneself. As a younger person, pre-parenthood, I didn't appreciate all that my parents did for me and my siblings. Perhaps at times I still don't.
It's a job that doesn't really get any easier, regardless of the duration of your tenure. There always seems to be new ground to explore, new challenges to overcome and just when you think you're an expert... situations change!
I think there's a month of blogs in that topic... better get to work!
Needless to say, the job of a parent is also a rewarding one, something I wouldn't give back. It makes me who I am, and teaches me all I need to know.
